Symptoms
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle, body or head aches
- Vomiting and diarrhea (more common in children)

- People 65+ years
- People with chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes or heart disease)
- Pregnant women
- Young children
Period of Contagiousness
1 day before and
5-7 days after symptoms appear
The best way to prevent flu is to get a flu vaccination. You can also help by:
- Staying away people who are sick
- Covering your mouth when you cough and sneeze
- Washing your hands frequently
